Director

LIGHTS, CAMERA, PUPPETS!

I’ve had the pleasure of pouring my on-camera puppetry knowledge into the realm behind the camera. From conceptualizing and storyboarding to blocking and choreography, directing puppets is an all-encompassing but delightful task.

THE PROOF IS IN THE PEANUT BUTTER

Here’s a fun little ditty that I directed for Super Simple Songs. (As of this writing, it has been enjoyed by 52 million viewers on YouTube.) I created a storyboard for the song, coordinated the puppet cast, and made plans for all of specialty props and rigging. Shot over the course of two days, the end result is quite a slice! [Insert rim-shot here.]

NOM NOM NOM

Continuing on the foodie train, here’s another nommy puppet music video that I directed. As of this writing, it has been enjoyed by over 86 million kiddos.

STICKY FINGERS

The fun – and challenge – of this next piece was shooting it on a green screen with a single puppeteer. Each puppet character was filmed one at a time, and then all five characters were put together in post production. Matching puppet eyelines, coordinating the choreography, and maintaining overall consistency were just a few of the key components in bringing this spooktacular piece to life.
